Kenya: World marathon record holder Kelvin Kiptum and his coach have died in an accident along Kenya's Eldoret-Kaptagat road.
World marathon record holder Kelvin Kiptum and his coach have died in an accident along Kenya's Eldoret-Kaptagat road. So sad.

He was only 24 years old. Kelvin Kiptum’s world marathon record of 2:00:35 set in Chicago last year was ratified just 5 days ago.

With that performance, Kiptum improved his PB by 50 seconds to surpass the world record of 2:01:09 set by his compatriot Kenya's🇰🇪 Eliud Kipchoge in Berlin on 25 September 2022.
