Tunisia Holds Ivory Coast to 0-0 Draw
SOUSSE, Tunisia (AP) — Tunisia missed several scoring chances Wednesday and was held to a 0-0 draw in a friendly against Ivory Coast, which was missing star striker Didier Drogba due to an injury.

Drogba pulled out after picking up a knock Sunday in Chelsea's Community Shield win against Manchester United. Manchester City defender Kolo Toure also missed the match because of a thigh problem.

At the Stade Olympique de Sousse, the Elephants almost took the lead in the fifth minute when Marseille striker Bakary Kone burst past Tunisia defender Karim Haggui and his shot went just over the crossbar.

Tunisia then hit back, and Seif Ghezel forced Ivory Coast goalkeeper Boubacar Barry into a smart save when he took a shot from close range after the Carthage Eagles won a corner.

Barry was called into action again early in the second half when he kept out Chaouki Ben Saada's shot, and Tunisia went close once more in the 64th minute when Fahid Ben Khalfallah's powerful strike flew just over.

Ivory Coast is well on course to reach next year's World Cup, winning all three of its qualifying games so far in Group E and scoring 10 goals. Drogba's team plays Burkina Faso in Abidjan next month.

Tunisia tops Group B ahead of Nigeria.
