Royal Air Maroc Launches Non-Stop Service from Washington Dulles International Airport to Casablanca

WASHINGTON, Sept. 9, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Yesterday, Royal Air Maroc, the award-winning national airline of Morocco, launched thrice-weekly non-stop service between Washington Dulles International Airport and Casablanca. Washington, D.C. becomes the airline's third destination in North America, and its second U.S. destination, after New York (JFK) and Montreal (YUL). The Washington, D.C. and New York-to-Casablanca flights, which are operated with a new generation Boeing 787 Dreamliner, will increase the seats offered in the United States by more than 40 percent.

Flight AT218 from Casablanca touched down at 9:55pm local time at Dulles Airport outside Washington, D.C. and was greeted with a water cannon salute. The return flight to Casablanca, flight AT219, departed at 11:40pm. The Washington, D.C.-to-Casablanca flight operates on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and offers a schedule and product perfectly connected to the domestic and international networks of Royal Air Maroc. Through its global hub in Casablanca, customers can seamlessly connect to destinations such as Dakar, Lisbon, Nairobi, and the popular vacation destination, Marrakesh.

"Royal Air Maroc is thrilled to launch the only non-stop service between Washington, D.C. and Casablanca. We are equally excited about deploying the state-of-the-art Boeing 787 on this important route; the spacious cabin interior allows our customers to move with ease and gives them a greater feeling of comfort. We look forward to welcoming guests onboard as they travel to Casablanca and beyond across our global network," said Mr. Abdelhamid Addou, Royal Air Maroc's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "Royal Air Maroc's new Boeing 787 Dreamliner service to Casablanca, Morocco, provides passengers another important destination from Dulles International, the region's international gateway airport," said Mike Stewart, the Vice President of Airline Business Development at Washington Dulles International Airport. "This new service also allows passengers in the national capital region to easily connect to more than 95 other Royal Air Maroc destinations."

Royal Air Maroc's fleet of brand-new Boeing 787 Dreamliners feature 18 Business Class flat-bed seats and partitions with adjoining seats in a 2-2-2 layout, and 256 Economy Class seats in a 3-3-3 layout. Ergonomic seats have been entirely redesigned to guarantee all customers more space, legroom, and comfort for a truly relaxing journey. Casablanca serves as Royal Air Maroc's global hub, offering convenient connections to more than 90 cities across Morocco, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the Americas.
